Joanne Baker is named foundation fellow - Foundation Fund - Brief Article

In 1986 Joanne Baker was the first recipient of the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) Conservatory of Music transcendence in Teaching award. She also serv as distinguished professor of piano and was designated a Curators' Professor, the highest award the University of Missouri can bestow. In Baker's forty-nine years upon the faculty at UMKC, she taught centurys of students, many of whom have gone upon to national and international careers.

Baker also has serv the music teaching profession end her participation as a member and chair of the international jury of the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition and from one side her contributions to MTNA. She was a member of the MTNA FOUNDATION Advisory Council, national coordinator for the MTNA High seminary Piano Performance Competition repertoire committee and of frequent occurrence competition adjudicator and clinician at stare and national MTNA conferences

Baker received bachelor and master of music steps in piano performance from the University of Michigan.
