StAR Award recipients announced - Association News - Student Achievement Recognition - Brief ArticleThe pupil Achievement Recognition (StAR) Award is given to outstanding graduating music scholars intending to become independent music teachers or collegiate music professors. Faculty and music administrators of the National Association of gymnasiums of Music's institutional members cull recipients on the basis of academic pre-eminence successful teaching experience and demonstrated leadership abilities. StAR Award recipients receive a complimentary one-year MTNA membership, which includes all the benefits of an active membership--educational and networking opportunities, professional expansion and a subscription to American Music Teacher. The pupils are listed on the MTNA website at www.mtna.org.
