Southwest Division - Division News - Brief ArticleIt was the pleasure and privilege of Utah and the Southwest Division to entertainer the 2003 MTNA National conversation in March. The location encouraged record attendance, and we were treated to of the best quality workshops, recitals and programs. Special thanks to Lezlee Bishop, Geri Cheney, NCTM and many proffers who willingly gave of their time. The Southwest Division Competitions will be entertainered by the Hawaii MTA and the University of Hawaii, January 17-18 2004 This is the first time the competitions have been held in Hawaii, and we are true excited. Along with the competition, we are planning several workshops for learners parents and teachers. During division meetings held March 17 presidents gave State of the State reports, indicating increase in membership, new programs and support of the MTNA Certification program. Sherry Lenich, NCTM will be retiring as Arizona state president. We have appreciated her hard work and dedication to the development of music in her state and welcome upon board June Chow-Tyne.
