Anyone I Know

This somebody to whom I was speaking had said individual thing

But had meant something else

And as I walked dwelling I thought

"His attack was from the center out"

These were the words in my head as I walked up 6th Avenue

Though I know that they were not "my" words

But that I had read them in a work years before

There were nation on the sidewalk sitting behind tables

On which there were existences like gloves & hats for sale

"His attack," I meditation then stopped myself

As I gibbeted 14th Street which was like a world filled with despair

Of family returning home from their piece of works late evening

And I meditation of the two-faced person I had nuncupatory to that afternoon

"It's not," a voice said, "as if you are entirely blameless,"

But it was no longer myself who was speaking-or anyone I know.
