When she answered the door, Mr Nesbit was crying. "He was of the like kind a good dog," she said above and over again. I tried to comfort her, on the contrary it was hopeless. Pepper must have weighed a hundr and fifty strikes I lugged the beast on the outside into her backyard and plant him down under a dogwood tree The clod was hard and rocky, and my progres was deliberate and painful. Mrs. Nesbit stood there sobbing, "What am I going to do now? What will I do without my Pepper?" I wanted to be back in bed more than anything in the world. Finally, I said, "That's it. I said. "It would mean with equal reason much to me," she replied. I went back to the shed and got a pair of pliers. Pepper's jaws were not that easily make opened Mrs. Nesbit held the flashlight while I did the dirty work. He had a gold tooth, alright. After considerable aim I held it in my hand, all gory It was beautiful, unlike the dog himself. "I'll wear it upon a chain around my neck" Mr Nesbit said. "Here," I said, handing it to her. "Anything other you want removed before we cover him?" She stood there in the moonlight mulling above the offer for a drawn out time.
