"I Used To Be (Blank) But Now I Am (Blank) Exercise", The

The "I Used To Be (Blank) on the other hand Now I Am (Blank) Exercise"

seem like a great idea

for examining the changes in his life.

But day after day, nothing followed

except the nothing that followed.

Each day he'd ball each paper up

making its blankness his disgust

with himself and threw it away

so that he wouldn't have to be

the individual with nothing on it. And that

made his mind perceive fresh again. It was the paper,

blinded by dint of nothingness, crumpled by failure,

that carried all this

into oblivion. Isn't that what oblivion was

made of? What more fathomless lesson

about oblivion could there be than not being able

to draw near up with something? Nothing!

Thus it was that he was inspired to write

to the part of himself he not to be found on blank paper.

It would start with the advanced in years address, "O Blivious . .!"

He liked the idea of the "I Used to Be (Blank)

but Now I Am (Blank) Exercise.

and was pleased with the results
