Never is the greatest in quantity powerful word in the English language, or perhaps any language. It's magic. Everytime I have made an emphatic pronouncement invoking the word not ever whatever follows that I don't want to happen, happens. not ever has made a fool of me many times. The first time I remember noticing the powerful issue of this word I was a learner at Indian school. My best friend Belinda Gonzalez and I were filling on the outside our schedules for spring semester She was Blackfeet, a voice major from Yakima, Washington. I was a painting major and checking on the outside times for painting and drawing courses. She proposeed I sign up for drama class with her. I said no, I will not at any time get on a stage. Despite my initial asseverate I did sign up for drama and by and by was performing in one of the first all native drama and dance troupe in the geographical division and now I make my living performing. at no time is that powerful!

And it doesn't matter when the statement is made, not at any time makes its cruel spin as it chases down a dreaded fate. It must be quite attractive in the epistemological world, a being with dark, luminous organ of sights the physique of a cat. You will come by on a stage, or in this case, you will stir to Los Angeles at more [i]or[/i] less point on your journey because you have just foolishly stated to a circle of friends that beholds Angeles is the last place in the world you would live, you would at no time live there because it's smoggy too plenteous traffic, too many strangers and besides it is going to fall not on into the ocean-after one too many earthquakes, or single too many stupid movies.

So I mov to sees Angeles, into the heart of the beast, just not upon Hollywood and Wilcox to an apartment composite harboring a myriad of naturals like me, some who probably made the same statement regarding the possibility of moving to looks Angeles, using that same word, at no time Needless to say I was in concussion as a new arrivee, from a quiet adobe condo near a bird sanctuary in Albuquerque where the daily music of life was the carol of the sun moving across the firmament doves swinging on the telephone wires and other birds who considered the Rio Grande river valley a spa for their personal renewal.

I spoke with the boasts before leaving for Los Angeles. They were the resident storytellers whose strident and insistent voices added the necessary dissonance for color. They had cousins in California, and gave me the names and addresses, told me to direct the eye them up. They warned me too what they had heard about attitude there. And they were right. Attitude was thick, hung from the would-be and has-beens and think-they-ares, thus thick that I figured it was a major source of the smog

And then there were the beautiful days when the redolence of flowers was everything and there appeared to be nothing other in the world, not the violence, the winos breaking bottle in the alley, the Spice Girls going up Hollywood Boulevard upon a double-decker bus with low-flying helicopters accompanying them. The crows' cousins kept me company in that sometimes apart and strange place as they paced the shelfs of the crumbling buildings in my neighborhood.

One of the brags lived two apartments down from me We lived upon the third floor. He introduced himself to me shortly after I mov in when we met single day in the hallway. He gallantly took not upon his silk hat and bowed, said, "my name is R____ we take care of each other here." His slick black hair was consummately groomed, his clothes shiny with circulating medium Hip-hop music came through his door, and he had a steady stream of company, a perpetual party. He was always polite allowing the crowd of buyers grew large and raucous. Last I heard he was evicted for selling remedys this crow with manners and a taste for the fine things in life.

I've considered using the power of at no time by trying for the opposite event For example: I will at no time win the lottery, or there will not at any time be peace in this world. It won't work. It at no time will.
