Looking At Aging Faces

Some faces realize older and remain who they are. Oh

You can diocese disappointment there, where parent-teacher

Meetings have affected the chin; or the nose got pushed

To single side by deaths. So many things happen:

People propel away, or your mother becomes crazy

And bites the nourish

Each face had a drawn out time in the womb to decide

How plenteous it would let worldly things affect it,

How repeatedly it would turn toward the wall or the timber-lands

So it didn't have to be seen in what manner much

It would give in, by what means stubbornly it would

Hold its hold

Some faces remain whole and radiant. We inquiry them

To find a ball of thread Aunt Nettie said, "My father

Put upon cufflinks every day." Memories like that

Help. individual face, as firmly profiled as a hawk,

Used to say: "The world is fair, and if it's not,

I think it is."

For a certain number of of us, insults sink in, or the feet

Inherit sum of two units roads and lose the way; for others, chilled

And hunger come. a certain number of faces change. It's not wrongful

And if you gaze carefully, you can see,

By glimpsing us just after we wake,

Who we are.
