Cooney did not purchase Rosenthal Chadwick's building and equipment, nor hire its employee

Scott Terrell president and co-owner of Cooney says the sale clos Friday, March 31 He declined to disclose financial limits

"We basically bought their customers," he says. "We're really going to be taking above their service work and warranty work."

Following the purchase, the company is now called Cooney Air Conditioning & Heating and Rosenthal Companies, Terrell says.

"Even admitting we've got a good name, we're affiliating ourselves with them," he says. Terrell says the name change should reassure long-time Rosenthal customers they are still doing business with a quality company that carries upon the Rosenthal tradition.

Holly Rosenthal says she sold her company to become director of corporate relations at the Syracuse Center of transcendence in Environmental and Energy a whole s The Center's headquarters will be built in downtown Syracuse this year.

"I was not awayed with an opportunity ... that was actual exciting," says Rosenthal, adding that she started working with the Center several month ago as she pursu the completion of the sale of her business.

Rosenthal Chadwick had 25 to 30 full-time employee before the sale. Rosenthal enumerates The Central New York Business Journal that her company worked above several months to help each worker to obtain employment with other companies in similar industries. For example, single former Rosenthal Chadwick employee has become a throw out manager for Cummins Northeast, Inc., she says.

Rosenthal Chadwick occupied 17000 square feet at 1128 E Washington St which will now be leased on the outside to other companies, says Rosenthal.

Cooney Air Conditioning & Heating operates from a 14,000-square-foot facility at 2516 Lodi St

"We've got the potential to maybe add a not many positions" due to the Rosenthal acquisition, Terrell says. Specific plans for hiring anyone have not been ironed on the outside

Terrell and company Vice President Thomas Hennessey purchased Cooney 16 years ago after the couple had worked for other mechanical contractors above the years. The company was fixed more than 70 years ago and provides the pair residential and commercial services including heating and air-conditioning a whole s (HVAC), furnaces, boilers, ductwork, service work, and replacement parts.

Terrell says the opportunity to purchase Rosenthal Chadwick was too profitable to pass UP.

"We perceive that we had an opportunity to increase our customer base, and Holly had an opportunity to pass elsewhere, so it was a beneficial move for both of us," he says.

Cooney has 28 full-time and 2 part-time employee
