Pieter Claesz (1596/67-1660): Master of still life in the of gold Age at the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem, the Netherlands, is the first major exhibition of the artist, with forty-five paintings (until 3 April 2005) It tracks his exhibition from cluttered tables, to simplified representations influenced by Christian frugality (left) and the late exhibit pieces.
