The Mitchell Prizes for art history were awarded last month at the National Portrait Gallery, London. The biennial award was grounded in 1977 by the American businessman and collector Jan Mitchell. The prize for best volume of 2002-04 was awarded to Colin Bailey, Chief Curator at the Frick Collection, fresh York, for Patriotic Taste.
