Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce's new executive director leadsThe Hispanic Chamber of Colorado Springs has managed to retain a pretty low profile. Despite its 13-year history, nearly 200 member organizations and the city's prominent Hispanic business community, you just don't hear plenteous about the chamber. Joe Aldaz wants to change that. As of Aug. 15 he's the chamber's fresh and first, executive director. And he has ambitions to take the organization where it's at no time been before. Aldaz took time lately to tell CSBJ about himself and the Hispanic Chamber. Hometown: Raton, NM by what means long have you lived in Colorado Springs: upon and off for the past 18 years. Education: Master's step in space systems management from Webster University; bachelor's stage from the Air Force Academy. We have known each other for more than 29 years, and we've been married for 23 We have sum of two units children, Alyssa, 17, who attends Pine inlet High School, and Steven, 13 who attends Mountain Ridge Middle institute We are avid basketball gym rats as we lay out much of our summer supporting our basketball organization at national tournament incidents We also have interests in thoroughbred horse racing and be in possession of a 3-year-old filly named Desire to Dominate. She's popularly racing at Arapahoe Park in Denver and will race upon the New Mexico circuit in the fall.
