10 to catch: Apollo's selection for the month ahead

An exhibition of metalwork, textiles and ceramics by the agency of Christopher Dresser (1834-1904), the celebrated Victorian industrial designer, lay opens at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, upon 9 September (until 5 December). The Montreal Biennale, 24 September31 October, takes as its theme public space, including architecture, of that kind as this skyscraper with an interior plan based upon a Canadian maple leaf, by the agency of West 8 practice. 'Sudan: Ancient Treasures' at the British Museum, London (9 September-9 January 2005) contains gold jewellery, stone plastic arts and pottery, some recently discovered, in a loan exhibition from the National Museum, Khartoum, upon the culture of ancient Egypt's little-known rival.
