Consistent with CS' large scholarly aim this final 2005 issue features another stellar array of articles that should appeal to undergraduate and graduate pupils as well as faculty members from across the communication discipline.

* The lead article, by means of Robert McCann, Ren?© M. Dailey, Howard Giles, and Hiroshi Ota, further reinforces the merits of studying communication across the lifespan by the agency of examining age-related stereotyping and norms. L by means of two senior and gifted scholars, this team soils their study in accommodation theory and the predicament model

* The next to the first article, by Kenneth A. Lachlan, Stacy L Smith, and Robert Tamborini, transports C onto fresh conceptual and pragmatic terrain by dint of investigating a pressing social issue and concern: The various impacts of violent video games upon viewer perceptions.

* The third article, by means of Lorin Basden Arnold, reports a thematic analysis of an online bulletin board for parents of large families. It thus spans family and computer-mediated communication domains and addresses social support expressions. The piece throw backs very well on CS' commitment to eclectic and potentially groundbreaking research.

* The fourth article, by dint of Mary Christine Banwart and Mitchell s McKinney, won CSCA's prestigious Federation research award in 2004 The debate surrounding the part of gender in the political arena continues to be a "hot" issue and single that triggers many heated discussions. In this noteworthy piece, Banwart and McKinney, provide a certain quantity of valuable insights to better advance to grips with gender factor.

* The fifth article, through Patrica Sias, continues her drawn out line of pristine and theoretically compelling research in organizational communication. She examines the integral relationships among information amount and quality employee received with the quality of their co-worker and immediate supervisor relationships. This work, I believe, would have been well received by means of the late Dr. Fred Jablin.

* The sixth and final article by the agency of Alex Susskind, Donald Schwartz, William D Richards, and J David Johnson documents the 30 year history of communication network research at Michigan State University. Past and continuing issues confronting network scholars are explicated, as well as a certain number of of the key challenges the Communication discipline clashs when seeking to shape other intellectual areas. This piece is especially timely in light of single of the major contributors to network scholarship passing away earlier this year: the late Dr Ev Rogers
