Patient collection Directions (PGDs), where pharmacists are empowered to fill up treatments to defined groups of patients using an agreed protocol, are an important disclosure in expanding the role of pharmacists and other primary care providers. They are also important ways of improving patient access to rapid diagnosis and treatments and of helping PCT to fit NHS targets and implement the NH Plan.
