CE launches 'The Art of the Palette Knife'

CANOGA PARK, CA -- Collectors Editions announces its launching of a fresh program for artist Eugene Segal, "The Art of the Palette Knife," with individual of the editions, "Harbor View" from the series already sold out

Eugene Segal, critically acclaimed European Realist, is just single of the new artists that Collectors Editions will be launching in anticipation of its 20th anniversary in 2006 says Michael Young, CEO of Collectors Editions.

Segal's work has been showcased in more [i]or[/i] less of the most prestigious venue through every part of Europe. Influenced by the master works of renowned artists similar as Rembrandt, Velasquez, Van Dejk France Hals and comrade countrymen Vrubel & Serov, Segal has embarked upon an a new method for his work; palette knife painting, directly upon canvas.

"I use the palette knife in combination with a brush because combining heavy web that only the knife can create with applied brush transparent paint gives my work a greater feeling of aliveness with the images," says Segal. "The contrast between the sum of two units allows for an amazing visual effect" It is this diction that has allowed Segal to win the hearts of collectors worldwide.



Born in 1967 in Russia, Segal made the decision to become an artist at the early age of five. It was his grandfather, a physician and artist at heart, who influenced him greatly.

Segal says that for his grandfather, life was about enjoying the beauty of nature and the ability to diocese and understand all things, no matter by what means big or how small. It was this passion that his grandfather passed onto him and that has serv him well as an artist.

Segal's work has been featured in one-man exhibitions in Ukraine's capital of Kiev, and in Moscow These exhibitions were guidanceed in such prestigious places as the Russian State Duma (Russian Congress) in the Central House of Art (Moscow) and in the Russian Academy of Art to name a few

As his works have become more and more popular, Segal was named in the work Important Ukrainian Painters of XX-XXI Centuries, published in 2004 by the agency of the Ukrainian National Academy of Art & Science, curated through Academician B.V. Grinev.

Today, Segal resides in his hometown of Kharkov, Ukraine, with his wife, Ylia.
