Celebrating 35 years and a grand openingWALTHAM, MA -- The Panopticon Gallery of Photography is celebrating 35 years of business and the grand opening of its next to the first location inside the Hotel Commonwealth in Kenmore Square, Boston, with an opening reception (Oct 20) This fresh space allows the gallery to introduce of recent origin work by local and contemporary photographers, as well as contemporary archival reproduction photographs of historic Boston. In celebration, Panopticon Gallery at the [i]cabaret[/i] Commonwealth will feature a collection of photographs by means of Peter Vanderwarker's and Robert Campbell's Boston Globe Sunday Magazine series, "Cityscapes," [i]or[/i] part of to the other Dec. 3. The series features landmark sites and buildings of Boston as they appeared years ago, compared to today. In addition, the gallery sponsored a raffle where each entry won a prize. The raffle pay was $10 and included 35 grand prizes, of that kind as signed original photographs by dint of Brad Washburn and Ernest Withers, an original contemporary print by means of Vittorio Sella or posters from past Panopticon Gallery exhibits.
