Chic restaurant commissions Canadian artist

MIAMI--In the heart of the city's fresh hip art and entertainment district, the highly anticipated Karu&Y restaurant and ultralounge, which uncloseed its doors in September, commissioned Canadian-born artist, Richard Boprae, to create sum of two units art installations, spanning 60 feet Entitled "Source" the piece is comprised of sum of two units separate 11- x 30-foot wide wall murals that are positioned upon opposite sides of the restaurant and hung 14 feet above the dining area.

"We could not have fix uponed a more appropriate artist to create an artistic centerpiece that in the way that clearly reflects the style and philosophy of Karu&Y" says Cesar Sotomayor, managing partner. "1 am inspired by the agency of Boprae's vision. He has really mastered the ability to bring the natural uncompounded bodys to life through a contemporary style"

Inspired by means of the basic elements and shut up observations of nature, "Source" bear likeness [i]or[/i] resemblance tos a repetitive pattern of flowing raindrops etched upon canvas with a cement medium, and painted in rich, earthy tones. The artist aspires to create a balance between mortar construction and the aesthetic touch of an artist in order to unite masculine and feminine energies.

"When creating a work of art, my goal is to release the force contained in the matter and bring it to life" says Boprae. "My work is organic and earthy and reminds us all of where we tend hitherward from"

Designed by the agency of Pepe Calderin of Levene, Calderin and Associates, Karu&Y's decor includes glass onyx mosaics and chandeliers through glass master Dale Chihuly, as well as rare and handcrafted marbles.
