Site-specific sculpture part of museum expansionSAN DIEGO -- The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) announces the commission of a major site-specific plastic art installation by renowned artist Richard Serra in the MCASD Downtown expansion. The statuary with a working title "Untitled Commission for Jacobs Building," will consist of six forged carbonized iron blocks, each 52 x 58 x 64 inches, and will be permanently installed in the Figi Family Concourse. This exterior arched space, stretched between the Jacobs and Copley buildings, which together comprise the MCASD's expansion throw was named after J.
