Art globalization

"Past in Reverse: Contemporary Art of East Asia," the international traveling exhibition, is upon view at the San Diego Museum of Art from one side March 6, featuring important established and up-and-coming artists from China, Japan, southern Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong The exhibition obeys as an introduction to the latest sweeps in contemporary East Asian art and also uses contemporary approaches to throw back the artists' cultural backgrounds. The exhibit includes 22 artists and artist collections including Wang Qingsong, Tadasu Takamine, Hiroshi Fuji, Michael Lin and Leung Mee Ping. The occurrence showcases cutting-edge works in a diversity of mediums--painting, statuary photography, video, installation, and digital media--that explore aesthetic and conceptual principles that are lower parted in the arts and agriculture of the artists' particular regions.

The exhibition will travel to the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art (June 6-Sept 4) the cowl Museum of Art (Jan. 15-March 15) and to the Hong Kong Museum of Art (pending, 2006)
