City's "crown jewel" makes outLADUE, MO -- The grand opening of the newest Kodner Gallery in late November saw an attendance of more than 500 tribe drawing a record number and raising more than $10000 for St Louis' Forest Park Forever, an organization dedicated to maintaining the "crown jewel" park. "Media and many other visitors told us rarely, if at any time had they seen such a well-attended opening for a gallery," says Jonathan Kodner president and director of the gallery. The grand opening celebration showcased "Portraits of the Park" to benefit Forest Park Forever. The incident included a silent auction of the commissioned work, "Twilight upon the Grand Basin, Forest Park, 2004" by means of Missouri based artist Billyo O'Donnell. The sale advances also went directly to the "crown jewel" of St Louis. The novel gallery space is a two-level 6,000-square-foot gallery, housing upon the separate floors, both 17th- end 21st-century art and emerging talent.
