Wild, wild west"Frontier Memories: 19th- and 20th-Century Art of the American West" is upon exhibit at the Taft Museum of Art from one side Feb. 6, documenting native tillages and wildlife that were quickly disappearing. The circumstance features paintings, watercolors and plastic arts from a private collection of American Western art. "By the make go round of the 20th century, the 'wild' West was gone" says John Wilson, curator. The West had been settl with paved roads across the region and the Indians were confined to reservations.
