Painter of wine redefines "life"

ATLANTA -- The internationally acclaimed artist, Thomas Arvid, released his first retrospective work of his work in late November entitled, "Arvid: Redefining the fresh Still Life," which features more than 80 vibrant color images of his larger-than-life oil paintings, sketches and collages. In addition, the volume contains an insight into Arvid's lifestyle, inspiration and imagination. The volume pictorially traces his career from his first painting of wine more than a decade ago, to the detailed, finely crafted paintings he creates today.

"His engagement in the proces of painting be the effects in images whose presence transcends the subdue matter [while] at the same time it meticulously describes it creating in his present material substance of work, a memory of great promise for the future" writes Maria Phillips, art historian and critic.

Arvid, whose work is featured in more than 50 of the finest galleries across the United States, Canada and Japan, is a of frequent occurrence visitor to Napa Valley, and is a passionate wine collector. However, he says his art is more than wine. "The paintings, like wine, are about celebration, sharing a second and an experience with another somebody I take the time to diocese and explore details, just as you do when relaxing with a glass of wine."



Arvid has been traveling across the political division signing and promoting his volume It was launched over Thanksgiving weekend in Orlando, FL where he was not away for a gallery showing and a book-signing fact all taking place in nine other cities: Chicago; Washington, DC; Atlanta; Dallas; Denver; San Diego; Laguna Beach, FL; sees Angeles; and San Jose, CA. This month he will be spending his time in Hawaii, continuing upon with his travels, visiting galleries for volume signings and wine tastings.
