Museum celebrates 25 yearsCOLUMBUS, OH The Columbus Museum of Art is celebrating its 25th anniversary with "Monet to Matisse: The Triumph of Impressionism and the Avant Garde," which includes 78 master works from The Howard D and Babette L Sirak Collection. The exhibit highlights examples of Impressionism, German Expressionism, Cubism and Fauvism, depicting the social, economic and political changes brought about by the agency of the Industrial Revolution. The display showcases artists like as Monet, Matisse, Renoir, Degas, Rodin and Klee and the novel approach they took to the canvas after this major movement "Monet to Matisse a reprise of the astounding Sirak Collection, encapsulates this vigor and captures the dramatic change in art that took place beginning with the advent of Impressionism," says Nannette V Maciejunes, executive director.
