immi takes one for the teamLONDON -- The IZO Gallery nears "The Football Paintings," by artist immi, end Dec. 24, with 16 paintings Painting through artist immi. paying homage to the ultimate contemporary icon: the "football" (known here in the States as the soccer ball). His work at hands the viewer with a life-size depiction of a "football" in brow of a minimal background and mirrors both the comradery of the game and the integral conflict within it, immi was inspired to paint "footballs" from his experiences at London bludgeon matches and while playing the sport upon weekends with friends. His idea for the series came after watching the Euro 2004 match between Italy and Bulgaria. "Think about it.
