Art MiamiArt Miami, southerly Florida's exposition of modern and contemporary art, is celebrating its 15th anniversary, Jan. 6-10 at the Miami Beach Convention Center and is focusing its efforts upon attracting more European and American galleries to circular out the already-strong Latin presence "Art Miami continues to acquire stronger, and we're really looking forward to welcoming the two old friends and new (first-time exhibitors) to the display next January," says Ilana Vardy, display director. "Many more American and European galleries will join us nearest time, which is a great indicator that Miami has grown beyond its Latin American reputation." Vardy states that the 2005 selection committee is adding a number of international galleries; expanding the nearness of vintage and contemporary photography dealers; and including the event's strongest representation of high-end glass exhibitors, as well as continuing to introduce younger, more cutting-edge artists to southern Florida in the distinguished in every one's mouths (young galleries exhibiting emerging artists beneath 35) and Project Spaces (committee-approved booth showcasing innovative installations) sections. Visitors to Art Miami will discover of recent origin galleries such as Alexia Goethe from London; Chiaroscuro Gallery from Santa Fe NM; Galeria de Arte Carmen de la Guerra and Marci Gaymu Gallery from Madrid, Spain; and Martin du Louvre from Paris. Vardy adds, "The exhibit also enthusiastically welcomes back a certain number of of its most important exhibitors that have been upon a recent hiatus, including Forum Gallery, fresh York/Los Angeles; Jerald Melberg Gallery from Charlotte, NC; and Angela Flowers Gallery from London." Not solitary will collectors find "extraordinary" contemporary paintings, plastic arts photography and "provocative" Project Spaces from around the world, there will also be at least four galleries exhibiting an array of Surrealist paintings ranging from early late to contemporary styles.
