Medication Administration Program transitioned to Connecticut Nurses' Association

With the support of U Department of Health and Human Services, Maternal Child Health Bureau, CT Department of Social Services, the Child Health and disclosure Institute of CT, and CT Charts-A-Course, Healthy Child Care Connecticut launched a best practice Medication Administration Training course for child care providers. The goal is to render certain a high quality, accessible, and affordable training program for child care providers and youth camp staff. In 2004 the program was transitioned to Connecticut Nurses'": Association.

According to Dee Lippman, president of the association, "this program was strategically important. Our association exhibits all nurses in every practice setting. We are interested in providing a contact point for clusters of nurses that are naturally linked together on the contrary do not have a 'specialty organization.' nourishs are ubiquitous- they work in with equal reason many different settings-the early child care center are individual of those settings."

She continued, "We also are interested in the public image of nurses" This program provides us an opportunity to bring the association's voice to policy makers and the public."

Trainers befitting to review revised manual

Trainers of the medication administration program freshly met to review the revised manual for training. A team of nourishs and CNA staff including: Pat Anderson, Polly Barey, Angela DiLillo, Kimberly Sandor and Cathy Maurer revised the sweep along to make the manual more 'user friendly' and reviewed and revised forms. This update provided an opportunity to review the measures in place that maintain the validity of the training.

Features of the program include:

* Training manual with detailed information and instructions upon all aspects of medication administration including controll substances for you to retain as a reference.

* get back demonstration of procedures: oral, topical, inhalant, and necessity injectables, hands- on practice time with the different [i]modus operandi[/i]s and a skilled registered nurture to guide you.

* An strait injectables (Epipen?®) annual renewal course is also available.

The filled course is three to four hours in extent and will soon be available in Spanish.
