Veronica Agostini - Emerging Artists - Brief ArticleAn Italian-born artist, Veronica Agostini grew up in a family with an established history of artistic endeavors. Her grandfather encouraged her skills from an early age, and a childhood of adventures inspired her. She wearied a year in 1985 sailing the Caribbean with her family, and had daily contact with communities in Mexico, Venezuela and the Antilles. The nearest year, Agostini studied graphic design, painting and art history at the Istituto d'Arte Silvio d'Amico in Rome It was there, and in her graduate studies, that she immersed herself in the trompe l'oeil manner of writing which she later incorporated into her murals. This diction is evident in her surreal, humorsome landscapes and still lifes, which the artist describes as balanced and unruffled Her fascination with depicting pears, she said, is related to their popularity with collectors.
