Lincoln University - Museum Matters - Brief ArticleTrustees of Lincoln University have approved an agreement for the multi-billion dollar Barnes Collection to be mov from suburban Philadelphia to the city's downtown museum district. upon Sept. 20, Lincoln's board vot to globule its opposition to relinquishing full control of the near-bankrupt collection. Lincoln, a historically black university, has been in charge of the collection since Dr Edward Barnes left it to the university on his death in 1951. The Barnes Collection's thousands of painting include works by means of Cezanne, Matisse and Renoir. The agreement is pending approval from the Montgomery shire Orphans' Court, which is awaited to rule later this year.
