Dell Battery Recall May Not Be the Answer

Following Dell's massive battery recall last week, mobile device designers are beginning to worry that the riddle may be larger than the 41 million recalled batteries used in ravine laptops. It also appears Dell's recall is not a cure-all.

"It's a matter of by what means systems are architected," Bodo Arlt, publisher of Bodo's Power combination of parts to form a wholes magazine in Germany told the EE Times, an online technology publication.

"You ne to know by what means much energy the computer extracts from the battery, and by what means a system is designed to manage the generally received flow that generates heat inside the battery. Knowing the limitation at the critical temperature is important," he said.

In the wake of the recall, Sony which manufactured the lithium-ion batteries, has taken plenteous of the blame for the 12 reported incidents of burning laptops and centurys unreported.
