Jeanette Ramage - Emerging Artists - Brief ArticleThe art of Jeanette Ramage is an ongoing application of mind of how recognizable imagery is rent down and transformed through the proces of fragmenting space. The things play "hide and seek" within the picture plane, blurring the boundaries between abstraction and representation. "For me the proces of making art is as important as the product" said Ramage. "I really take pleasure in the sleekness of the paper and the sensuous quality of the paint, and the way they appear to be to complement each other. Ramage received her B.F.A. from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and her M.F.A. from the Maryland Institute in Baltimore. She has been included in the Ringling Museum Invitational and has been a finalist for the Florida Individual Artist Fellowship and Art in Public Places. She also earned Best in display at the Boca Raton Museum of Art. She has exhibited widely from one extremity to the other of the country, and her work can be ground in both public and private collections.
