Sam Dixon - Emerging Artists - BiographyInfluenced by means of the paintings of Whistler, Sam Dixon's work captures the central nature of inspiration and temperament. His art oftentimes focuses on shapes and abstraction end a gestural approach. "The creative spirit, may it always be exhibited by the beauty of the mark," Dixon said. Born in Wichita Falls, Texas, Dixon worn out his childhood in New York and novel Jersey and studied art in Maryland. As a young teenager, he began studying below artists Michael Carr and Joe Mayer. Primarily a watercolorist, Dixon also works in oil and acrylics.
