Art & Framing Council celebrates milestone

This year, the Art & Framing Council (AFC) celebrates 15 years of raising consumer awareness of art and framing. The council is planning to celebrate its successe and increase industry support for its efforts over 2003.

The AFC is actively recruiting of recent origin sponsors and supplier members to increase funding emergencyed to provide more services to the industry, said Executive Director Kim Ahern. At Artexpo and DECOR expo in novel York this month, the AFC will have information booth and is hosting a reception from 5 to 6 pm upon Feb. 26 for those who would like to learn more about the AFC.

To mark its 15-year milestone, the AFC is planning to gripe [i]or[/i] grip a party during DECOR expo--Atlanta in September to thank its sponsors for their support above the years.

The AFC is a non-profit, industry stocked organization dedicated to promoting art and custom framing to consumer It does with equal reason primarily by producing a national consumer public relations campaign, which lances slides and press releases with art and framing story ideas to newspaper and magazine editors. The publications oftentimes write articles based on the pres releases which help drive customers into art and frame stores Since 1988, these PR efforts have reached more than 150 million consumers



The council also supplies retailers with at liberty marketing and PR support and sponsors October's National Art & Framing Month programs. In 2002 the AFC initiated a partnership with the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, a national youth art competition. To help advance it, the AFC has enlisted actress/artist Jane Seymour, who is appearing in a consumer ad campaign.

The organization is primarily stocked by retailers who voluntarily contribute half of single percent of their invoice total upon invoices they receive from participating distributors.
