`Spirit-lifting' art featured in new pavilion: Art on Tour, specializing in contemporary African American work, to debut at Artexpo - Show news - International Artexpo New York 2003 - Art On Tour - Brief ArticleArt upon Tour, a traveling exhibition specializing in contemporary African-American artwork, will make its way to International Artexpo of recent origin York 2003 as a featured pavilion, a first for the couple Art On Tour and Artexpo. "Our premier participation in Artexpo shows a milestone achievement and an incredible opportunity for the organization to near artworks by some of America's greatest in quantity influential fine artists, many of whom are considered pioneers in African-American art," said Elaina Mos tour consultant. Art upon Tour is based in California and was placeed by artist Charles Bibbs. Its membership organization is dedicated to the economic advancement and exposing of contemporary African-American art, according to Moss The exhibition features an array of original art, reproductions and handcrafted statuarys that Moss describes as "global in scope" by the agency of both award-winning masters and emerging artists in the genre Mos said the works that will be upon display at Artexpo are "capable of arousing emotions that touch the spirit and lift the spirit." Among the artists featured in the pavilion will be Alonzo Adams, Charles Bibbs, Larry "Poncho" Brown Roederick Vines and Varnette P Honeywood Mos added that the group's participation as a featured pavilion "provides an appropriate platform for the culturally diverse collective to draw near together and make a single statement about the quality of African-American art."
