Donald Beal - Emerging Artists - Brief ArticleArtist Donald Beal mov to the small town of Provincetown, Mass., about 20 years ago, drawn to the landscape and unique light fix at the tip of Cape codfish During the last decade, he has created a series of large-scale oil paintings focusing upon Beach Forest, which is plant in a valley of sand dune made nearly invisible by means of a surrounding thicket of trees While Beal's lush paintings are f by means of what he sees in nature and include representational elements--dogs, rabbits, human figures and forested or stormy landscapes, Beal said, "I am not trying to describe or locate a specific space.
