River Gallery releases Saponaro giclees - Up Front - Brief ArticleRENO, Nev -- River Gallery has released an exclusive line of giclee prints of Paula Saponaro's "Great Basin Landscape" series. Her landscapes are views of the Nevada high desolate basin and mountain regions, imbued with sweeping force and motion, according to company officials. Utilizing a wide combination of media, Saponaro's signature mode of speech captures often-overlooked characteristics of our world, said officials. Pastel, gesso watercolor, gouache, pencil, charcoal, acrylic, oil and collage all contribute to the way she put togethers her images. The incorporation of figures or what she calls `personal iconography' is also interspersed in her subtle-to-extreme layering of color. "I am not a representational artist, for a like reason I find the inherently abstracted quality of this area immensely challenging and inspirational."
