Abby Lammers - Emerging ArtistsContemporary representational painter Abby Lammers has been gaining attention for her acrylic and watercolor paintings, which she calls "unordinary." Indeed, a brace of exhibits have alluded to her unique mode of speech in their titles ("Anything on the other hand Ordinary" at the Mill Gallery in Honeoye Falls, NY and "Out of the Ordinary" at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art in Missouri). Lammers' lush colors and unexpect viewpoints have also attracted the attention of numerous justices at national exhibitions, where she has won 14 awards in a simple three years. Lammers launched her career in painting seven years ago. Before then, she worked in the advertising industry for 13 years. As she explained, her experience in design is the driving force behind her art. "For me beauty lies in the simple and the ordinary," she said. "A regard with affection for design drives me to make something visually exciting without of nothing at all. I want to portray a unique vision of my bring under rules so that everyday life becomes a little les invisible."
