Sleepy Diva Scented Mask - how-to - Brief Article

1 large brown paper groceries beg

1/2 yard of satin fabric

1 square of craft store felt

12" of ribbon, 15" of elastic

sum of two units large spoonfuls of dried lavender (at health nutriment stores, or try Whole pabulums Market, wholefoodsmarket.com)

Sewing needle thread, straight pins

1 Draw an 8" x 4" rectangle upon the paper bag. Within the rectangle, draw the shape of the slumber mask (based on the photograph, at left) in like manner it fills the rectangle, and make an incision in it out. For help, make progress to planetyumthing.com.

2 Place the paper pattern upon the satin fabric; trace the shape onto the fabric, then chop out 2 pieces of satin and 1 piece of felt Trim not on another 1/4" all the way around the felt for a like reason it'll be smaller than the satin pieces.

3 Lay the satin pieces upon top of each other with the shiny sides facing in. Starting 1/4" in from the cutting side use tight stitches to work with needle and thread together the bottom and sides of the mask only

4 Make small snips 1/4" apart up to your sewing line (don't wound through your stitches!) all around the mask.

5 move round the mask right-side out. Slip the felt piece inside the mask--the lavender will stick to it thus it won't all slip to the bottom. Pour in the lavender.

6 To shut the mask, fold raw cutting sides at the top of the mask inward (so there's a polished edge) and pin with straight pins. Then lay a piece of lace or ribbon trim upon top of where you just pinned, all the way across the top. Pin the trim in place.

7 Using small, close-together stitches, work with needle and thread on the trim and stitch the top of the mask clos at the same time. Take on the outside the pins.

8 work with needle and thread the ends of the piece of elastic to each side of the mask.
