Use moulding to make the flag of freedom - fred's framing corner - Brief Article - Column

Americans, in this time of national crisis and uncertainty, have been showing their unity and be fond of of country in many ways. American flags are prominently displayed upon cars, bridges, businesses and place of abodes across the country. By using moulding to create attractive flags for wall display, custom framers can fulfill their customers' desire for art that exhibits the pair patriotism and beauty.

For this throw I chose Framerica's 83000 profile in r white and sapphirine Rustic Pine moulding. First, I crosscut 13 pieces of moulding for the stripes in the following lengths: three 44 7/8-inch r pieces, three 44 7/8-inch white pieces, four 26 9/16-inch r pieces and three 26 9/16-inch white pieces. nearest I cut 10 blue 12 13/16-inch longitudinal dimensionss and arranged them vertically to form a amethystine rectangle for the upper left corner of the flag.

To fabricate the base of the flag, I applied carpet gelatine with a trowel onto a 1/8-inch-thick Masonite board measuring 23 13/16 by dint of 44 7/8-inches and attached the amethystine rectangle and stripes.

To create the stars, I made a stencil through cutting out a jig from matboard with 50 stars arranged within the sky-colored area. I placed the stencil above the blue background and used flat white spray paint to spray the stars onto the amethystine field. An incomplete, primitive spraying enhances the rustic have feeling of the flag and adds a faculty of perception of antiquity.

Lastly, I finished not on the rough edge of the Masonite by means of framing the flag in Framerica's 71009 black Rustic Pine, chop 23 13/16 by 44 7/8 inches plus enough allowance to fit around the board.

The total require to be paid or undergone of materials for this patriotic throw was approximately $135. The star stencil can be reused, making this an easy item to mass-produce at a reasonable require to be paid or undergone What better way to display your support for the United States and the economy?
