Artist creates new painting technique - news - Charles Wooldridge - Brief ArticleDENVER--Artist Charles Wooldridge has utilized a fresh painting technique to create his newest series of paintings. The technique, which he said he invented, is based upon the process of statically applying soil pigment and chalk pastel to several underpaintings. Then the paintings are varnished several times and polished to a glasslike surface. These unique paintings, as well as several original hand-fabricated tin and stainless steel sculptures, will be displayed at Artexpo California this month Wooldridge said this technique was invented on the outside of frustration with traditional media where the color did not match the colors in his visions for his paintings.
