JettSport chosen as Kentucky Derby Art licensee - news - Brief ArticleLOUISVILLE, Ky.--Churchill Downs and JettSport Inc. have signed a three-year contract that will make the sport and fact graphics company the licensee for the track's popular "Art of the Kentucky Derby" series and other Churchill Downs artwork from 2002 to 2004 JettSport Inc. will inspect the creation and production of the commemorative prints and placards for the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks. The artwork will also appear upon tickets to the two occurrences and on other officially licensed merchandise for the Derby and Oaks during the three years of the contract. JettSport will also license all artwork bearing the track's signature Twin Spires and other trademarks. The 2001 Kentucky Derby was the first in which JettSport Inc. serv as the official licensee of the "Art of the Kentucky Derby" series. Working upon a one-year contract, JettSport attracted singer and artist Tony Bennett to create a pair of paintings that became the official artwork of the 127th running of the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks.
