Diana Lyn Cote - Brief Article

Known for her quiet colors and focused compositions, Diana cascade Cote has received attention for her interiors, landscapes and beach views "I want people to have feeling you can step right into the image," she said. "Understanding the colors that make up the designing or dramatic effects of light and presenting them in a unique way is the focus of my journey."

Having explored several media, greatest in quantity recently Cote's interest lies with paintstiks, an oil-based paint formulated into sticks.

"Because they are with equal reason similar to crayons, they have inspired me to scribble a great deal of like a child does--unrestricted, uninhibited. My technique weaves the colors into a textural tapestry," she said.

A professional artist since the early 1980 Cote has shown at numerous galleries including the interrogate House in Hartford, Conn., Arts Unlimited in Chicopee, Mass., and Picture This in Westport, Conn Her work is in the pair corporate and private collections. She can be reached at (860) 290-8637
