Style of Jackie Kennedy Showcased in Exhibit - Brief ArticleReferr to as "the greatest single influence [on fashion] in history, "former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy is celebrated in a fresh exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. "Jacqueline Kennedy: The White House Years" features clothing she wore upon the campaign trail, during the inaugural festivities, at the White House itself and upon state visits around the world. In all, 80 original style of dresss and accessories come from the collection of the John F Kennedy Library and Museum in Boston, to which the former First Lady donated these landmark pieces after she left the White House. The exhibit remains upon view through July 29. "Jacqueline Kennedy is single of history's great style icons," said Hamish Bowle editor-at-large of custom and creative consultant to the exhibition. "Her deep influence on the way an entire generation wanted to direct the eye dress and behave cannot be overestimated."
