DeSerio Photo Reaches $18,500 Auction Record - Brief Article

SEDONA, Ariz.--Recently, a collector photograph of "Cathedral Rock" through Sedona, Ariz., photographer Lou DeSerio, reached a of recent origin record of value earning of $18500 It was purchased by dint of collectors in California. Not drawn out ago, the original record was station when a Canadian collector purchased the photograph of "Cathedral Rock" for $17500

This collectable series was produc through Lou DeSerio in early 1990 in a special limited edition of sole 12 prints, each 30 by dint of 36 inches in size. This edition was sold on the outside in a few years, and now the sole method for obtaining this edition of this size is from private collectors.

DeSerio is showed at Visions Fine Art Gallery in Sedona. The gallery has an artist essay from this series available for purchase.

Although DeSerio has lived in the Sedona area for more than 17 years and has captured many images, he said nothing can compare to this photograph of Cathedral stone It all happened one day when he had just complet photographing in Jerome about 30 miles southern of Sedona when he saw a storm approaching.



He rushed from Jerome to R stone Crossing just in time to station up his 4- by 5-inch view camera, make up the image and take single shot. Due to the storm the entire spectacle changed so quickly, that he was unable to take a next to the first photograph until later in the day and record a completely changed show later titled "Cathedral Rock Sunset"
