National Black Fine Art Show Commences Fifth Season - Brief Article

novel YORK--The fifth-annual National Black Fine Art present to view will kick off this month (Feb 2 to 4) at the friar rush Building. Since its debut in 1997 the occurrence has watched the number of patrons swell from 7,000 to more than 17000 with art sales topping the $10 million mark in February 2000

"The excitement and awe that environs the National Black Fine Art exhibit is unique, as we continue to provide opportunities for family to see and acquire the artwork of talented Black artists," said the show's creator and farmer Jocelyn Wainwright. "It is an historical enterprise that strives to educate art collectors and the public about a significant, startling body of work. The fact that we're in our fifth year is evidence that the works created by means of Black artists are very abundant a part of the legitimate art world."

A gala preview will kick not upon the annual event and will benefit The Studio Museum of Harlem.



According to display organizers, the successes of the four previous circumstances were represented in a number of areas important to art fairs of any sort, on the contrary in particular to this historic fact in Black culture. "The National Black Fine Art present to view is a major bridge toward educating the one and the other the art collector and the general public about these wonderfully rich visual masterpieces."

Among the dealers exhibiting at The National Black Fine Art present to view will be: Essie Green Gallery (NYC); George N'Namdi (Detroit and Chicago); ACA (NYC); Bourbon-Lally (Haiti); Jerald Melberg (NC); Caribbean Arts (Lo Angeles); and many more.
