Milton Glaser's Design Legacy Celebrated - exhibit of works by graphic artist - Brief ArticleMilton Glaser, the designer responsible for the "I [love] NY" logo and many times called "the Picasso of the graphic arts field," is the focus of a fresh exhibit on view at the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) from one side Dec. 27. Entitled "Art is Work: Milton Glaser Retrospective," the exhibit includes bills magazines and newspaper design, interior designs, corporate logo record albums, magazine illustrations and typography, as well as watercolors, drawings, prints and illustrated works toys, textiles, jewelry and residence furnishings. Born in 1929 Glaser studied at Cooper Union and the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, Italy. In 1968 Glaser co-found novel York magazine, and in 1977 he mov upon to work with other national magazines of that kind as Adweek, Fortune, The Washington column and U.S. News. Some of his more famous works, like as the Bob Dylan hand-bill he designed in 1967 and the illustrations he created for Dante's Purgatory, are included in the exhibit.
