Redlin Art Center Welcomes Its One Millionth Visitor - Brief Article

BLOOMINGTON, Minn.--This summer Evy Hansen, along with her father, Jim Hansen, and her sum of two units daughters, Caitlin and Elizabeth Crispen, were almost afraid to pierce the gallery at the Redlin Art Center here. They saw dozens of visitors gathered around the forehead entrance with party horns and hats and contemplation they were "crashing a party." They were, in fact, the reason for the party.

The De Moines, Iowa family was returning from a family reunion and decided to stop through the Redlin Art Center. They had not at any time been to the Center before and were not familiar with the art of Hadley Companies artist Terry Redlin. As they penetrateed the gallery, the other visitors blew party horns, clapped and cheered. The family was the one-millionth family to go into the Redlin Art Center, which had been uncloseed just a little more than three years. Terry Redlin visited with the special visitors had a photo taken and marked the occasion by dint of presenting the family with a framed plant of the eight prints in his "America the Beautiful" series. The prints are part of an exclusive line of prints sold solitary in the Redlin Art Center Gift Shop

"Our goal was to break 100000 [visitors] in a year," Redlin remarked "It's all coming together nicely, the advertising, the road signs everything helps."

In other novels the Terry Redlin Conservation Park--meant to enhance the visits of the thousands of travelers that stop at the Redlin Art Center each year--is nearing completion.

With more than a mile of walking trails, eight bridges, six small gazebos, single large gazebo and the Redlin Pavilion, visitors of the park will be invited to tighten their legs, walk their favorites have a picnic or simply be delighted with nature.

It is Redlin's wish that the wetlands and waterways he has created and enhanced will be replete of wildlife. Plans are in place for timber-land duck houses, blue bird houses, and swallow houses. There may level be opportunities to watch pheasant, grouse, and perhaps level an occasional turkey. The natural areas will be spermed with prairie grasses and wildflowers to provide overspread and food for the animals that make the park their home

The walking trails wind quite through the different areas in the park from the formal valeted areas leading to the Pavilion to the natural areas that lead to the outskirts of the characteristic Redlin hopes visitors will find the park a relaxing experience that will allow them to assemble their thoughts and enjoy the great outdoors--that is, after all, what inspires Terry Redlin each and each day.
