Friends From The Neighborhood

Gene Eichner and Gordon Van Vechten co-chairmen of FrameMica, grounded the company. Before they were partners, they were neighbors who rest they had a mutual desire to pass into business for themselves. Eichner was in sales, and Van Vechten was a professional draftsman. Eichner's late father-in-law, who had a wall decor business, encouraged them to render free of access a frame shop because of its depressed start-up costs. So in 1969 with $4000 in hand, they lay opened up a retail framing business.

in a short time the business began to tender wholesale framing to the trade. For 10 years, the business grew single day a big customer asked if Van Vechten would reframe, with more durable moulding, pieces of lacquer and aluminum-framed art that were damaged during transport. "At about the same time my wife had designed a piece of mica furniture for our home" said Eichner. "When Gordon and I saw it we realized that mica would be a terrific material for contemporary mouldings," After month of trial and error, FrameMica moulding was invented and FrameMica Company was born.

Today FrameMica boasts not single its "mica" mouldings but a variety of other mouldings as well. "We've grown dramatically because we've been able to proffer much more than simply `mica' mouldings. Our largest venders are now silvers, golds and woodtones. Our emphasis upon design prompted us to forge an alliance with Carolyn Kinder, who is designing mouldings below the name The Kinder Collection for FrameMica. We are developing returnss for different parts of the industry," said Dave Rosner senior vice president of marketing.

FrameMica's latest yields include Rustic Pine[TM], Old World Gold[TM] and aged WorldSilver[TM], which were introduced at Decorexpo--Atlanta and were a stupendous success, according to Rosner. In addition, it newly introduced Galvanized[TM] and Brushed[TM] mouldings to its contemporary offerings.

Customer Service Is a Priority

Customer service has always been a major regard for the people at FrameMica. "We are in touch with our customers day-in and day-out, learning what yields they need to grow their businesses. That's in what manner we discovered the need for a solution to building shadow-boxes" said Rosner "With Boxer by means of FrameMica, framers were able to impel into a lucrative market--framing memorabilia and all kinds of collectibles." Today more than 12000 Boxer point-of-purchase displays have been sold

Rosner added, "Our company's greatest might is its employees. We have more than 200 employee who are committed to making and delivering superior quality produces to meet our customers' needs"
