OnView.com Launches Virtual Exhibition Program - Brief Article

fresh YORK--Onview.com (www.onview.com), an art world portal dedicated to selling fine art online, freshly launched a virtual exhibition. "This is a continuation of our mission to not away art online in the same adjoining matter as collectors are used to in the `offline' world," said Stephen Ketchum ceo of onview.com.

Artists from emerging to important figures of the 19th and 20th centuries will be featured in a program that includes four displays per month. Each virtual exhibition will be "open" for six weeks, with a one-week preview available to registered users. Onview will also at hand several exhibitions simultaneously live at Brooke Alexander Editions, the novel York-based print publisher gallery the company newly acquired.

The site's first exhibit "Andy Warhol: Pop Master," will be upon view through Nov. 2. The exhibition showcases Warhol's art, highlighting images that above time have become part of the visual vernacular, including Marilyn Monroe Muhammed Ali and Mick Jagger. Other exhibitions include work through Julius Shulman, Jack Spencer and Anne Dufresne

The majority of the exhibitions will be curated in conjunction with the site's 300-plus affiliated dealers. Exhibitions will include educational satisfied such as artist statements, bios and interviews. The site's fine art specialists, as well as visitor curators, will organize shows. "The virtual exhibitions are a winning formula for the couple our dealers and our site visitors, said Sarah Cohen, director of virtual exhibitions. "Dealers will be well-served because their works will be not awayed in the best possible light, the pair from a commercial and academic standpoint.
