"Street Market" Artists Busted - graffiti artists Todd James, Josh Lazcano - Brief Articleupon Oct. 2, while preparing for the opening of "Street Market," an installation at Deitch shoot forwards artist Todd James was arrested outside the gallery for graffiti-related misdemeanors. The exhibit [through Dec. 2] is a collaborative effort with sum of two units other artists/graffiti writers, Stephen Powers and Barry McGee [see p 121] Josh Lazcano, an artist not in the exhibit who was helping with the installation, was arrested at the gallery Oct 4 upon a felony count of criminal mischief. His court date is plant for Jan. 4, 2001. None of the charges for either James or Lazcano was related to the exhibition.
